Sehwag's figures of 2.5-0-6-4 explain the mystery as well as the mastery his off-spin had over Bangladesh

Virender Sehwag is better known for his dominating batting skills that have opposition struggling with his ability of being able to score runs at often a runrate in excess of 100. It is why the spectators enjoy the Viru magic so much.

He has that habit of turning on the pressure and his prolific style has become legendary in the 21st century.

Only there is the other side to Sehwag that you don't too often see. This is the spin weapon that he rarely
shows with the same effectiveness as his batting prowess. Day Two of the Asia Cup saw the all-rounder adopt a different tactic with the help of India's captain MS Dhoni in the game against a struggling Bangladesh.

Dhoni had used five bowlers to loosen them up for the tougher games against Pakistan and Bangladesh before he tossed the ball to his vice-captain and urged him to get into the act. He might as well, as the Bangladesh batsmen were struggling and on a surface where flight and guile rather than turn had the batsmen in trouble, Sehwag's golden arm began to put the Bangladesh batsmen question their judgement against someone who is not a frontline bowler. The result was how in 17 balls he wrecked the lower order of the Bangladesh innings.

His first wicket was with the first ball he bowled, the victim being Mushfiqur Rahim, the Bangladesh wicketkeeper who pushed forward, but was beaten by the flight, the ball brushing the glove on the way though to Dhoni. From that point, he turned the screws on the batsmen and in his third dramatic over, picked up three wickets with the innings stalled at 167 as the implosion took on giant proportions.

His figures of 2.5-0-6-4 explain the mystery as well as the mastery he had over Bangladesh. He didn't go on to inflict much pain with the bat, scoring 11 out of a total of 168 for four with Gautam Gambhir anchoring India's reply with a score of 82.
