In the third ODI match against India A women's team, Australia A premier batswoman, Alyssa Healy, delivered a match-winning knock.
During the 217 run chase, Healy smashed an unbeaten 137 runs off 84 deliveries. Her blistering knock was laced with 23 boundaries and three maximums and a strike rate of 163.10.
Healy seemed to be in great touch before the upcoming ODI Women's World Cup 2025 in India. The tournament is also expected to mark her return to international cricket, as she was earlier struggling with injuries.
She concluded the three-match ODI series against India A with a tally of 242 runs. The right-hander also emerged as the top scorer in the series.
Speaking about her knock, Australia A coach Dan Marsh said that it was nice to see her getting some match practice before heading to India.
"Alyssa batted well today. All pre-season she's been looking good and it was just nice to see her get some match practice and put that into place heading into India," said Marsh as quoted by cricket.com.au.
"She'll be really happy with her two weeks (with Australia A), will have a nice little rest at home now and be ready to go to India," he added.
Healy said that India A team had been a very spin-heavy side, and the Aussies will, however, have to face them during the upcoming global showpiece in India.
"They've (India A) got a really spin-heavy attack and we're going to have to play a lot of that throughout the World Cup as well, a lot of the middle overs will be spin-biased," she told cricket.com.au.
Coming to the match, along with her, fellow opening batswoman, Tahila Wilson delivered a good start for the team. She scored 59 runs in 51 balls, with the help of eight boundaries. Later, after her departure, Rachel Trenaman shouldered Healy in the run chase. Facing 32 balls, Trenaman stayed unbeaten on the score of 21 runs, including two boundaries. They defeated India A by nine wickets.
Additionally, Australia will clash against the senior Team India in a three-match ODI series ahead of the World Cup. This will also help Alyssa Healy get more game time before the marquee event.
