Parthiv Patel said that despite all the factors favouring England's team, Shubman Gill and his men fought well and will have a lot of confidence to take in the upcoming series-deciding match. The fifth Test match is all set to be played at The Oval, starting from July 31

As Team India successfully secured a draw in the fourth Test match against England, former wicketkeeper-batsman Parthiv Patel pointed out a mistake, where he felt his former side should have done better. He feels that on Day 2 during England's innings, the Indian bowling lacked consistency.
Speaking on JioHotstar, Patel said that he wouldn't make any changes in the Indian team heading into the final Test.
"Looking at the way India played this Test match, there's not much I would change, but if you ask what could have been done better, I'd say the phase on Day 2 when England batted," said Patel.
"During that period, India's bowling lacked consistency and was a bit wayward on both sides of the wicket. That's where some correction was possible," he added.
Further, he also said that despite all the factors favouring England's team, Shubman Gill and his men fought well and will have a lot of confidence to take in the upcoming series-deciding match.
Otherwise, this has been a very good Test match for India, especially considering how things unfolded after the toss. Almost everything seemed to go against India. When India went in to bat, the clouds were overhead; when England came out to bat, the sun was shining bright," said Patel to has represented India in 25 Test matches.
"Still, the way India fought back, there's a lot of confidence to take into the 5th Test," concluded the 40-year-old.
One of the main concerns for India will be the presence of lead pacer, Jasprit Bumrah. He was advised not to play consecutive Test matches, considering his workload management.
Following the advice of the professionals, the pacer was made to play just three matches out of the five games. Team India has now found themselves in a situation where they need to win in order to draw the five-match Test contest against the 'Three Lions'.
With Rishabh Pant ruled out, there will be a race between N Jagadeesan and Dhruv Jurel to take up the wicket-keeping role.
The fifth Test match is all set to be played at The Oval, starting from July 31.
