On Day 3 of the second Test match against South Africa, Team India has reached the score of 174 runs for the loss of seven wickets in 67 overs at the Assam Cricket Association Stadium in Guwahati.
Team India is still trailing by 315 runs in the series-deciding match against the Proteas.
Team India's Washington Sundar and Kuldeep Yadav are still unbeaten at the crease. The duo has been showcasing terrific effort to help the side come out of the situation. So far, Sundar has faced 66 balls and scored 33 runs, including a boundary and a maximum, whereas Kuldeep has accumulated 14 runs off 82 deliveries, which was laced with two boundaries.
Earlier, stand-in skipper Rishabh Pant departed on seven runs in eight balls. His knock included just a maximum. Ravindra Jadeja, too, followed the footsteps of Pant. Jadeja departed on six runs in 18 balls.
Facing 18 balls, Nitish Kumar Reddy scored 10 runs, with the help of a boundary.
South Africa's star bowling all-rounder, Marco Jansen, has bagged four wickets so far in the match. He has bowled 17 overs and conceded 43 runs. Simon Harmer has also claimed two wickets for 61 runs in 21 overs. Keshav Maharaj has chipped in with one wicket for 39 runs in his spell of 15 overs.
Wiaan Mulder and Aiden Markram's hunt for claiming their first wicket continues. Bowling eight overs, Mulder has leaked 12 runs, and Markram has conceded 11 runs in six overs.
Earlier in the match, the Proteas were bowled out for 489 runs, thanks to Senuran Muthusamy, Kyle Verreynne and Marco Jansen's stunning knocks.
Muthusamy scored 109 runs in 206 balls, with the help of 10 boundaries and two maximums. Verreynne smashed 45 runs after facing 122 balls. His knock included five boundaries. Jansen, too, played a crucial knock of 93 runs. His knock ended in 91 balls, during which he smashed six boundaries and seven maximums.
Team India's wrist-spinner Kuldeep Yadav claimed four wickets by conceding 115 runs in 29.1 overs. Lead pacer Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj and Ravindra Jadeja registered two scalps each to their names.
Nitish Kumar Reddy and Washington Sundar went wicketless in South Africa's first innings of the second Test match. Currently, the Temba Bavuma-led side is leading the series by 1-0.
