Team India are on the brink of a massive win against the West Indies in the ongoing first Test in Ahmedabad after yet another dominant session. The hosts piled up 448/5 in their first innings and with a lead of 286 runs overnight, they decided to declare and ask the Windies to start Day 3 with the bat and have reduced them to 66/5 at Lunch on Day 3.

India were electric in the field and that was well summed up by a sensational catch by Nitish Kumar Reddy to dismiss Tagenarine Chanderpaul (8 runs off 23 balls) at short square leg off Mohammed Siraj's bowling. Ravindra Jadeja then got into his element as he worked over John Campbell and got him caught by Sai Sudharsan at short leg for 14 runs off 32 balls.

Jadeja struck once again as KL Rahul completed a fine catch in the slips to send back Brandon King for just 5 runs off 18 balls. Kuldeep Yadav then came into the attack and showed why he is one of the best spinners going around in the world. He got a delivery to pitch on off stump and go on with the arm. While Chase played for the spin, there was none as he was beaten on the outside edge, and the off stump had been pegged back. Chase had to depart for just 1 run off 4 balls.

India's catching continued to be excellent as this time it was the turn of Yashasvi Jaiswal. Shai Hope tried to cut a delivery from Ravindra Jadeja but only got a leading edge which flew towards Jaiswal at backward point. Jaiswal timed his dive to perfection and completed a superb catch, and the way he was celebrating summed up just how thrilled he was with the catch. That led to the end of Hope's innings for just 1 run off 14 balls.

Alick Athanaze has continued to hold fort from one end with 27 runs from 50 balls and has hit three boundaries. Jadeja has been the pick of the Indian bowlers with figures of 3/30 from his 11 overs. Kuldeep Yadav (1/15 off 6 overs) and Mohammed Siraj (1/16 off 7 overs) have contributed with a wicket each. West Indies are currently reeling at 66/5 and staring down the barrel of an innings defeat at the hands of India.
