Arshdeep Singh shares insights of the India team celebration on his social media

India's social media star Arshdeep Singh shared a sneak peek of team India's World Cup-winning celebrations. Singh posted a flurry of reels with his teammates after Team India hammered New Zealand by 96 runs in the final of the T20 World Cup. Speaking to Harsha Bhogle shortly after the match, Arshdeep admitted that he had a few reel ideasbrewing. Recently, the Indian pacer made a reel with Virat Kohli, which gathered a lot of traction. "I've thought of ten or fifteen reels, let's see how many we make," Arshdeep told Harsha Bhogle. Arshdeep made a short video with the Player of the tournment Sanju Samson, saying "Paaji, justice milgaya." It was a classic reference to online chatter about Samson not getting enough chances to show his worth. The opener was initially dropped from the playing XI but made the most of his chance in the last four matches of the tournament. Arshdeep followed the reel with a video with the Indian coach, Gautam Gambhir. The left arm pacer asked Gambhir to smile a bit more and got a little smirk out of the former Indian opener. Gambhir reciprocated by hailing Arshdeep as 'Singh is King.' Later, Arshdeep posted a short video with Ishan Kishan. The southpaw played a key part in India's T20 World Cup win, scoring 317 runs, including a half-century in the final. In the video with Kishan, Arshdeep referred to a famous Bihari line saying, "Ek Bihari. Sab pe baari." For his last reel, Arshdeep posted a solo video, saying, "First time it was so nice, we had to do it twice," referring to his two World T20 titles. Singh was part of the T20 World Cup-winning side in 2024. The Indian team celebrate the World Cup win with friends and family Team India's title celebration included pictures with friends and family. The likes of Hardik Pandya and Ishan Kishan were seen dancing with their partners, while Tilak Varma, Arshdeep Singh, and Abhishek Sharma were seen doing Bhangra. Suryakumar Yadav and Hardik Pandya posed for pictures with the World Cup trophy as the celebration looked set to go late into the night.

Abhishek departs after scoring 52 runs; Team India reach 127 runs after 10 overs

In the T20 World Cup 2026 final match against New Zealand, Team India has reached a total of 127 runs in 10 overs for the loss of one wicket at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Wicketkeeper-batsman Sanju Samson has scored an unbeaten 48 runs off 30 balls, with the help of four boundaries and three maximums. Shouldering him is Ishan Kishan, who has scored 19 runs in nine balls, including three boundaries. Swashbuckling opening batsman Abhishek Sharma departed after smashing a 21-ball 52 runs. His knock was laced with six boundaries and three maximums. So far, New Zealand skipper Mitchell Santner has used seven bowlers, including himself. Rachin Ravindra has managed to pick up one wicket for 12 runs in one over. Matt Henry, Glenn Phillips, Jacob Duffy, Lockie Ferguson, James Neesham, and Santner have not tasted success in picking up wickets. Team India's burly all-rounder Shivam Dube is all set to achieve the feat of reaching the feat of 1000 runs in the shortest format of the game. He is falling short of just 35 runs from completing 1000 runs in the shortest format of the game. So far, having played 63 T20I matches, Dube has amassed 965 runs, including six half-centuries. Earlier, having won the toss, New Zealand's skipper Mitchell Santner elected to bowl first against the "Men in Blue". The "Black Caps" will enter the clash with one change, where Cole McConchie will make way for Jacob Duffy. After winning the toss, New Zealand captain Santner said, "We will bowl first because we expected some movement early and want to limit their strong top order to a chaseable total, and the boys are buzzing for a night like this because these moments are why we play the game. Reaching the semifinals has given the group real confidence and playing in front of such a massive crowd is something we are excited for as it is a great challenge. Every team aims to peak at the right moment and we feel we are doing that on the biggest stage now. We have one change with Cole McConchie missing out and Jacob Duffy coming in. The surface looks good and we are looking forward to getting stuck in". On the other hand, Team India skipper Suryakumar Yadav said, "We are happy to bat first because it has worked for us and this wicket is similar to the red soil track from the last match so we are comfortable starting with the bat. In big games like semifinals or finals it always feels better to have runs on the board especially when our bowlers are performing so well. Being defending champions is a nice feeling but that is history now and this is a new World Cup even if it is the same venue from two thousand and twenty three. The crowd looks almost full even before the match has begun which is incredible and gives us great energy. We are sticking with the same team tonight". Amol Muzumdar ‘Disappointed, but happy with the fight we showed' against Aus

India head coach Amol Muzumdar hailed his team's character despite a crushing defeat to Australia Women in the pink-ball Test, saying the players showed commendable fight in difficult conditions here. India lost the one-off Test by 10 wickets inside three days as only Jemimah Rodrigues and Pratika Rawal could score fifties while other big guns like Smriti Mandhana and skipper Hamanpreet Kaur struggled in bowler friendly conditions at the WACA. "A bit disappointing with the result, but really happy for the fight that we showed for the last three days. There were tough conditions but credit to Australia, they were brilliant in this Test match," Muzumdar said at the post-match press conference. The Mumbai stalwart lauded the effort of the debutants, highlighting the determination shown by the younger players despite the team ending up on the losing side. "Somebody like Pratika showing the guts and determination, getting a half century here at WACA in the second innings. Kranti bowled her heart out and also Kashvi and Sayali in the first innings picked up those wickets. It was really heartening to see all the debutants," he said. Muzumdar said the team's packed schedule leading into the Test was challenging, though he refused to use it as an excuse for the result. "The women's team came in after playing five T20s against Sri Lanka, then there was the WPL, and immediately we flew out to Australia and played the T20 series before the multi-format leg. It's a tough one but at the same time there are no excuses," he said. He, however, suggested that an additional practice game before a Test would be beneficial for the side. "If they can add another practice game, nothing like it," he added. Muzumdar also expressed the team's eagerness to play more Test cricket, saying the longer format remains vital for the growth of the women's game. "We love playing this format of the game. Everyone in the dressing room was looking forward to this pink-ball Test in Perth. The more Test matches we play, the better it is for the game," he said. "I have always believed that a four-day or a five-day Test match in the international calendar is always a healthy sign for cricket." Speaking about the challenges of the pink-ball Test, Muzumdar said the ball moved considerably under lights but added that adapting to such conditions was part of the challenge. "The pink ball was a different challenge. The ball moved quite considerably under lights, but that's the way it is. It was the same for both teams and you have to adjust to the conditions," he said. "A pink-ball Test brings a lot of excitement. Spectators can come after work in the evening as well, so you have to consider those aspects." Reflecting on the match situation, Muzumdar said the toss played a role but admitted Australia had clearly outplayed India. "Obviously Australia won the toss and put us in. We would have done the same thing had we won the toss because the ball was swinging and seaming around at WACA. "We probably could have played those first two sessions a little differently and put a better score on the board in the first innings," he said. Muzumdar added that the message to the players before the third day was to keep fighting and try to make a contest of the match. "The message was plain and simple: fight it out. We thought even if we got around 125 in the second innings we could still make a match out of it with the lights coming into play. But Australia were terrific in this game and they outplayed us," he added. This story has been sourced from a third party syndicated feed, agencies. SA players express disappointment at flight arrangements post World Cup

Quinton de Kock and David Miller have criticised the ICC for allegedly prioritising England’s travel arrangements over South Africa and West Indies, with the two teams still waiting to return home amid disruptions caused by the conflict involving the US, Israel and Iran. England, who lost to India in the semis on Thursday, departed from Mumbai on Saturday evening on a direct charter flight to London. Both SA and WI are expected to travel together from Kolkata on another charter flight. The exact departure time is yet to be confirmed but the flight is likely to leave on Sunday.  “Funny @ICC, we have heard nothing! Meanwhile, England are leaving before us somehow? @westindies and @proteasmencsa are just in the dark! Strange how different teams have more pull than others,” De Kock wrote on his Instagram story. Miller also expressed frustration. “Funny that England gets eliminated after WI & SA and gets on a charter back home tonight. While WI & SA still wait for answers in Kolkata,” he wrote in the comments section of one of ESPNcricinfo’s posts. This story has been sourced from a third party syndicated feed, agencies. T20 World Cup 2026: 2007, 2024, and now... 2026: Three years, three cheers!

India saved their best for last, putting in a powerhouse all-round display to swat New Zealand aside and extend their lease over the T20 World Cup. The ghosts of the final of the 50-over World Cup, also at the sprawling Narendra Modi Stadium here, were emphatically exorcised as Suryakumar Yadav’s men rode on a fabulous batting display, scoreboard pressure and the versatility and penetration of their bowling group to storm to a commanding 96-run triumph. Inserted by Mitchell Santner, India posted 255-5, their third score of 250-plus in the last four innings, on the back of half-centuries from Abhishek Sharma, who made a timely return to form, Sanju Samson, who passed fifty for the third time in a row, and Ishan Kishan, unaffected by the move down to No. 3. Getty Images Shivam Dube then helped weather a three-wicket 16th over from Jimmy Neesham by clattering the same bowler for 24 in the final over with more than 86,000 fans driving their heroes forward. New Zealand needed a fiery start from Finn Allen and Tim Seifert. Together, the pair had put on 463 runs previously; this time, their alliance lasted only 31 runs and 16 deliveries when Axar Patel broke through, having Allen caught at long-on. It was downhill from there on for the Kiwis, who didn’t string together a meaningful partnership until Daryl Mitchell and Santner put on 52 for the sixth, but the ship had sailed long before that. Axar and Jasprit Bumrah were India’s bowling heroes with three and four wickets respectively while Kishan held a special catch, running in from deep mid-wicket, tumbling forward and holding on to the ball even after it bobbed out of his hands to account for Rachin Ravindra. All this meant the Kiwis came up second best, bowled out for 159 and choosing the most inopportune time to suffer their first defeat to India at the T20 World Cup. Abhishek and Samson helped India rattle up 92 in the first six overs. After the openers added 98, Kishan and Samson realised 105 in just 48 balls. Game over then and there. India thus became the first team to win this competition for a third time. They are also the first side to win at home and successfully defend their crown. However, Allen's luck soon ran out as he was caught by Tilak Varma off Axar Patel's bowling. Rachin Ravindra was the next one to go as Jasprit Bumrah used the slower ball to great effect.
