South Africa's Test skipper, Temba Bavuma, has been named in the country's A squad for the tour of India later this month.

It will serve as the preparatory series for the two-match Test series, which is scheduled to start on November 14.

The first Test match between India and South Africa is scheduled to begin on November 14 at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. The second game will be played from November 22 at the Assam Cricket Association Stadium in Guwahati.

Bavuma, who is recovering from a calf injury, missed the ongoing Test series against Pakistan. He was also left out of the squad for the ODI series, which in turn will allow him to spend more time in recovery.

His feature in South Africa's A squad will not only help him to ease back into the team, but also help him acclimatise to the Indian conditions before the side enters the Test series against Shubman Gill and his men.

According to a report in 'ESPNCricinfo', "he will be available for the second of two first-class matches to be played in Bengaluru".

After the conclusion of the Test series, the Proteas will engage in the three-match ODI series against the "Men in Blue". The first game of the 50-over format series will be played on November 30 at the JSCA International Stadium Complex in Jharkhand. The second and the third matches are scheduled to be played on December 3 and 6, respectively.

Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Cricket Stadium in New Raipur will host the second ODI, and the third match will be in action at the ACA–VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam.

After ODIs, both teams will clash against each other for five T20I matches. The Barabati Stadium in Odisha will witness the first T20I match between India and South Africa on December 9. The second (December 11) and third (December 14) games will be played at PCA New Cricket Stadium and Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium, respectively. The "Men in Blue" will then take on South Africa in the fourth match on December 17 at the Ekana Cricket Stadium B Ground.

The title clash of the T20I series between Team India and South Africa will be played on December 19 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
