Chennaiyin FC are in the second position (11 points) while FC Pune City are in third spot (10). League leaders Atletico de Kolkata have collected 12 points. While the home side has racked up two wins in their last two games (against NorthEast United FC and Atletico), the Chennai franchise has drawn their last two games.

Chennaiyin FC's manager-cum-player Marco Materazzi, stated that today's match will be like a final for them. "Today's match is against a side that beat Kolkata in Kolkata in their last match. But our team is fully fit and will go all out for a win today as the clash is like a final for us," Materazzi said yesterday.

For Materazzi's Pune counterpart, Franco Colomba, the win against Kolkata was a morale-booster for his men. "It is good to come into this game after a win in the last match, and it is a morale-booster for the players. But at the end of the day, every encounter is different," said Colomba.

There are some injury worries for the home team with John Goossens likely to miss out of action. Meanwhile, it is likely that former Arsenal player Jermaine Pennant could make it to the side.
