Air India beat Union Bank of India 8-6 via tie-breaker to win the Malad Gymkhana Ltd rink hockey title recently.
After the match finished 6-6 at the end of full time, AI ’keeper Edgar Mascarenhas Jr effected two brilliant saves in the tie-breaker while his teammates Manpreet Singh and Enrico Fernandes converted their strokes to take Air India to a win.
The winning team received a cash award of Rs 25,000 from chief sponsor Subodh Menon, while the UBI team were awarded Rs 15,000.
