Force India, courtesy a credible performance by Adrian Sutil, finished amongst points for the first time in four races.
The Silverstone-based team have now moved to seventh place in the Constructor's Championship with 10 points and six of them coming from this race.
Sutil's team mate Paul di Resta came 12th in his first Formula One race here.
India's Narain Karthikeyan, racing for Hispania, managed to complete the race at 17th position.
