Don Bosco's (Matunga) Bhupen Lalwani scored an unbeaten 144 to help his school register a 203-run win over Children's Aid Society (Mankhurd) in the quarter-finals of the Mumbai Schools Sports Association (MSSA) Harris Shield U-16 inter-school cricket tournament at Azad Maidan yesterday.

Bhupen’s 123-ball knock was laced with 21 boundaries. This win has ensured that the Matunga school made it to the Elite Division (three-day encounters) of the premier schools tournament.
Don Bosco made 250-5 in the stipulated 45 overs with their two spinners Sagar Sawant (left-arm) and Rohit Desai (off spinner) scalping 5-15 and 3-12 respectively to ensure the opposition was bowled out for just 47 in 28 overs. As per the new format introduced this year, four teams from each of the fours groups (comprising 32 teams each) will be placed in the 16-team Elite Division.
Following are the schools that have qualified for the EliteDiv:
Group A: Rizvi Springfield, VPMS Vidyamandir (Dahisar), Parle Tilak English (Vile Parle), IES Digambar Patkar.
Group B: IES Raja Shivaji (Dadar), Parle Tilak Vidyalaya Marathi, Lilavatibai Podar (Santacruz), Al Barkaat MMI.
Group C: Don Bosco (Matunga), Paranjpe Vidyalaya (Andheri), Sri BAK Swadhyay Bhavan (Matunga), Anjuman-I-Islam Urdu
Group D: Swami Vivekanand International (Borivli), Gundecha Education (Kandivli), Anjuman-I-Islam Allana English (CST), IES VN Sule Guruji (Dadar)
