Day One was called off without a ball being bowled due to rains. Yesterday, play began post-lunch. Yash accounted for the wickets of Rizvi opener Prithvi Shaw (18), Ashutosh Singh (2) and Waqar Shaikh (30). Dhruva Vedak got the wicket of Vaibhav Kalamkar (48), while Tanush Kotian sent back Rizvi’s Shoaib Siddiqui (1).
At stumps, Sidak Singh and Waqar Shaikh were unbeaten on 13 and 19 respectively. Yash admitted Prithvi’s wicket was special. “We bowled to Prithvi with a plan. We didn’t want him to score too many. Now, we have a slight edge over Rizvi as we head into the first session tomorrow morning. We’ll try and get two, three wickets and bowl them out within 200.”
