I am not comfortable in my sexy skin, says Lindsey Vonn

Vonn was recently part of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit edition and the world champion skier said it was more of a confidence-building exercise than anything else. "I think it's about being confident in yourself, and that's why I did the 'Sports Illustrated' shoot.

The whole experience gave me a lot of confidence in myself and I want to show that to young girls. Strong is beautiful and you should be proud of yourself and use what you have," Vonn told HollywoodLife.com on the sidelines of the ANA Inspiring Women in Sports Conference in Rancho Mirage, California recently.

'I was nervous'
"I've done them (Sports Illustrated shoot) before, but obviously the swimsuit edition is taking it to another level. I was very nervous, I'm not entirely comfortable with how I look," added the 31-year-old, who was involved in a relationship with former World No 1 golfer Tiger Woods for two years before the couple split last year. Vonn began dating Woods in 2013, two months after her divorce from husband Thomas Vonn, whom she married in September 2009, at the age of 22.

The ski champ however clarified that she won't be part of the swimsuit shoot next year. "I won't be doing it in the future, but I proved that I can do it," said Vonn, who is currently injured but focused on an Olympic medal in Rio nevertheless. She has three fractures in her knee.

"It's good (the injury). I'm still wearing a brace, but in two weeks I'll be done with that and will be able to train harder. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. I'm almost over it. My goal is to be healthy for the Olympics, so injuries like these I should probably try to avoid," she added.
