Kambli awaits Sachin's visit to new academy

After all the recent drama surrounding Vinod Kambli, who said on a reality show that he could have done with some more motivation from childhood friend Sachin Tendulkar, the million-dollar question was whether the batting maestro would make it for his friend's academy inauguration yesterday. However, Tendulkar was not present.
The occasion was graced by Virender Sehwag, who flew down at short notice from New Delhi. Sehwag, who was in primary school when the Tendulkar-Kambli duo from Shardashram school put up a record-breaking, unbeaten 664 partnership in an inter-school tournament, had warm words: "I used to be inspired by their game," he said. "I agreed without batting an eyelid when Vinod invited me to be here at the opening."
