Olympian shooter Joydeep Karmakar complains of vandalism at range

Kolkata: Olympian shooter Joydeep Karmakar on Saturday lodged an FIR alleging vandalism at his training range in the North Calcutta Rifle Club.

He claimed that his electronic target wires were snapped deliberately as an act to derail his preparations for the national trials. “It’s frustrating to find the wires damaged days before I leave for Delhi for the trials. The target is inside the hall which is locked by security men, so it’s certainly done by insiders with an ill motive,” he told PTI.
