She posted this picture on Instagram holding a sanitary napkin and captioned it, “Thank you for tagging me @deepikapadukone! Yes, that’s a Pad in my hand. Periods are normal. Just another day…#PadManChallenge.”
There is a debate on over the challenge being a thing to promote the Akshay Kumar-starrer movie by the same name.

Sindhu’s Instagram post saw people having mixed reactions on her act with majority of them calling her a youth icon who could bring in the change in people’s mentality. Meanwhile, some felt this is a publicity gimmick even as nobody is bothered to work in rural areas
