Maharashtra's Rashmi Teltumbde scored an upset victory over Tamil Nadu's third seed Sai Samitha C to enter the women's singles semi-finals of the of the Rs 13 lakh prize money AITA ranking Anirudh Desai JVPG tennis tournament in association with Nine Hills, yesterday.

Seeded seventh, Rashmi fought hard before winning the tie-break 11-9 to set up a semi-final clash with second seed Sharrmada Baluu of Karnataka.



On Wednesday, city lad Aryan Goveas and Delhi's Kunal Anand, recorded upset wins to storm into the men's singles quarter-finals.

Goveas beat No 4 Suraj Prabodh of Karnataka 1-6, 6-4, 6-2, while Delhi boy Anand beat No 2 Siddharth Rawat sent 7-6 (3), 6-7 (5), 6-2.
