Hosts Remedians SC won the 12th Flood-Lit Remedian Rink Football tournament after beating Andheri-based MacKenzie Boys 2-1 in the final at the Our Lady of Remedy school ground in Poinsar, Kandivali recently.
In a keenly contested finale, Hildeg Fernandes opened the scoring for Remedians after which Roy Fernandes drew parity for MacKenzie sending the game into the tie-breaker. Ulrich D'Souza scored the winner from the spot for Remedians, who were richer by Rs 10,000 while the runners-up received Rs 5,000. Sam Countinho of MacKenzie Boys and Harold Fernandes of Harold SC were adjudged the best player and most promising player of the tournament respectively.
