World No 4 Saina Nehwal entered the second round of the Denmark Open Super Series with a comfortable win in women's singles over Porntip Buranaprasertsuk of Thailand 21-16 21-8.
Anand Pawar defeated Pablo Abian 21-11, 21-12 in the men's singles to advance to round two. However, Ajay Jayaram and CWG gold medalist pair of Jwala Gutta and Ashwini Ponnappa crashed out.
Jayaram lost to Tommy Sugiarto 11-21 16-21, while the Indian women's pair lost 16-21 17-21 to Shinta Mulia Sari and Lei Yao of Singapore.
