Though creative midfielder Samir Nasri has stated that he will accept the decision of national team coach Raymond Domenech to snub him from the France World Cup squad, the youngster wants to know exactly why he was omitted from the panel.
"It's difficult but there are the choices of coach," the 22-year-old explained to Canal+ show 'Les Specialistes Europe'. "I respect them, but I also want to know why, because I hear reproach for my behaviour now. I respect the decision of the coach."
Nasri also revealed that club boss Arsene Wenger has already offered him some advice. "Arsene Wenger called me and told me that things will remain the same between us. He advised me to take a good holiday and not to doubt [myself]," Nasri, who confessed he was "disappointed" with the situation, concluded.
Over his career to date, Nasri, whose club form has been strong, has claimed 15 caps.
England bashing
Manchester United's Patrice Evra has revealed his disappointment at losing the Premier League title to Chelsea, whilst noting that the prospect of the forthcoming World Cup is keeping him in an upbeat state of mind.
England blues
"The World Cup is the only thing that makes me keep smiling," Evra told L'Equipe, considering the last day title disappointment the Red Devils suffered. "I will be with the team of France on May 15 and I will have had six days off. But I will give the best of myself, as I have done for Manchester United. I hope to win the World Cup.
I hope we play England in the final and beat them, certainly!"
Evra has been named in a panel of 30 players who Raymond Domenech will run the rule over in the forthcoming days, yet it would take a massive surprise for the former Monaco player, who is France's first choice left-back, to be omitted from the final squad.
