Sania fails to make Roger Cup draw

India's Sania Mirza faltered at the final women's singles qualifying round of the Rogers Cup tennis.

Seeded 11th, Sania went down fighting 7-6(5), 5-7, 3-6 to Kathrin Woerle of Germany.

In the doubles, Sania is seeded fifth with Russia's Elena Vesnina and they open against Italians Sara Errani and Roberta Vinci (ITA). In the men's doubles, Leander Paes and Mahesh Bhupathi are seeded third and have got a bye. They play the winner of the match between Spaniards Marc Lopez and Rafael Nadal and Czech Tomas Berdych and German Florian Mayer.
