Veteran sports journalist, Pradeep Vijayakar (60) passed away on Saturday night after a battle against cancer.

Vijayakar's early days in journalism were spent in Sportsweek before joining the Times of India.
He was a teammate of Sunil Gavaskar at St Xavier's College.u00a0
Vijayakar is survived by his wife and two daughters. His funeral will take place at Shivaji Park crematorium at 11 am today (Sunday).
