China’s World No 13 Jiang Yanjiao and 15th ranked Fanetri Lindaweni of Indonesia have pulled out from the women’s draw where India’s Saina Nehwal is the top seed.
Kuncoro was the second highest-ranked player in the men’s line-up after World No 1 Lee Chong Wei. Parupalli Kashyap will spearhead India’s challenge.
