Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik has rescheduled his plan to go to Pakistan, as his passport is still in the custody of the court.

"The reception be held on April 22. However, it will take place only if Malik manages to get his passport," said the source. It's now up to the court to decide when the cricketer'su00a0 passport is returned.

Although Malik hasn't yet applied to get the passport back, the police have formally closed the case and have asked the cricketer to come clean on the domestic harassment case levelled against him by Ayesha Siddiqui.

Narasimha Rao, the ACP who headed the investigating team, said, "There's nothing we can do, as Malik will now have to approach the court."

"Malik has been booked under Section 498 (A) for domestic harassment. Even though he and Ayesha have compromised, they will have to prove this before the magistrate who, if convinced, will drop the charge against the cricketer and return the passport," said Adib Rasool Khan, who headed the team of negotiators that facilitated the compromise.

However, the problem now is that Ayesha is still not willing to step out of the house, following issues relating
to her obesity and she may only be available for the proceedings if it's held through video conference.

Besides, it also depends upon the magistrate if he allows it to happen.

"Elders are trying to convince Ayesha to appear before the Lok Adalat. In the meantime, Malik can do nothing but wait," said Khan.
