The Delhi HC quashed proceedings against MF Husain

The Delhi HC quashed proceedings against MF Husain for hurting public sentiments through some of his nudist paintings of Bharatmata and Hindu gods and goddesses. Labelled obscene, the paintings outraged parties like VHP and Bajrang Dal who filed cases against him. Husain received death threats and hence, moved to London and Dubai.
What he said: "As things stand, I cannot come back. No one has exiled me; I came away myself because I am an old man and vulnerable to physical danger." Husain in interviews
Status now: The 94-year-old artist is now based in Dubai. He hopes to return to India in the next two years.
