Mishra had a narrow escape but the two women, who were riding home from a wedding in Juhu, sustained minor injuries.

Said Mishra, "I was driving at normal speed. I saw the huge truck ram into a tree a few meters away, and before I could veer clear, the one side of the truck rammed into my rickshaw."
The Santacruz police took a few minutes to arrive at the spot after which they diverted the traffic from the road for the next 30 minutes till the tempo was towed to a safer place.
Duty officer R Kadam said, "We have no clue about who the tempo driver is, but we should be able to trace him."
