Working for a Delhi-based entertainment company, the accused threatened the victim, who was demanding her due salary of a month, of rape
In a bizarre incident in the Capital, the director of an entertainment company was allegedly thrashed by its chairman, and threatened of rape, when she demanded her due salary.
The victim, Jennifer (name changed on request), is a resident of Greater Kailash and has been working as director with an entertainment company situated in Malviya Nagar.
The accused, identified as Bharat Kumar Bharmer, has been arrested. A senior police official confirmed the incident and said an FIR in this regard has been lodged under Sections 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt) and 509 (outraging the modesty of a woman), following the complaint by the victim.
The entertainment company concerned has organised many Bollywood-related programs in the Capital. "Jennifer was not given her salary for the last month. When she complained to Bharmer, he gave her a cheque of Rs 25,000. The cheque, however, bounced.
Jennifer then approached him again. This time Bharmer threatened her of dire consequences and asked her to go home. Tempers flared and Bharmer ended up beating the victim. He smashed her head against the wall and threatened her of rape," said the police.
The frightened victim then called her family and police. She was immediately taken to the AIIMS trauma centre. "She has injuries on arms and head," said the police.
