NSUI member Jitendra Sharma, who is a kickboxer, and has trained at SAI, supported Narsingh's conspiracy theory: "I'm a kickboxer and I know that no one is that stupid to do such a thing (use dope) just before the Olympics. Narsingh is a great guy and comes from an extremely humble background. I'm sure there is somebody else behind this. We have submitted a letter to Shailendra Kumar, SAI's assistant director asking for a investigation in the matter."
Some NGOs also joined the the students union's protest. Brijesh Pandey whose NGO Jaisriram trains young, underprivileged athletes, said, "Just because wrestler Sushil Kumar has won two Olympic medals for India in the past, it does not mean you can turn against a younger athlete like Narsingh for no fault of his. We support Narsingh's demand a CBI investigation."
