Neil Nitin Mukesh’s last few releases like Players, 7 Khoon Maaf and Lafangey Parindey proved to be damp squibs at the box office. So the actor, who has three films coming up, now wants to play a bigger role that goes beyond merely acting. He is keen to be involved in the post-production and in the decision making especially of the release dates of the films.

Says a source, “There are several actors who take a lot of interest in the project even after shooting is over. Neil has realised the importance of doing so. Actors like Aamir Khan, Ajay Devgn and Salman Khan take an active part in the film’s overall aspects as well. Neil feels this is vital especially having a proper release.”

In Neil’s kitty are Susi Ganeshan’s film with Ameesha Patel and Puja Gupta as co-stars. He is also part of Bejoy Nambiar’s gangster film as well as a horror flick that has rumoured girlfriend Sonal Chauhan as co-star.

Adds the source, “He has started discussing and planning the release dates of the films along with the directors and producers. Neil is getting involved in tactical decision making of the films as fixing a release date is one of the most important decisions. He feels these are most important aspects of filmmaking. He is also working on a release date calendar so that he has adequate time to promote the films.”

Three spree!
Buzz is that Siddharth M Jain has signed Neil, Prateik and Jiah Khan for a three-film contract. Jain is apparently working on 15 films currently, that are at different stages of production.
