Vicky Kaushal recently came on board the Sanjay Dutt biopic as the best friend of Ranbir Kapoor, who plays the lead role. Now, the latter is ready to return the favour. RK will shoot an elaborate scene for Vicky's next film that marks Ronnie Screwvala's first attempt as independent film producer.

A crew member in the know informs us, "During a workshop for the Dutt biopic, Vicky happened to mention the premise and details of his film to Ranbir, who seemed enthused by it. The makers were looking for an actor for the crucial cameo and when director Anand Tiwari broached the topic, Ranbir instantly gave his nod."

More than Vicky, Ranbir wanted to do the cameo for Ronnie as a goodwill gesture. It may be recalled that Ranbir had also launched the producer's last book and their banter at the event had left the audience in splits.

The film's team shot with Ranbir in Kandivali on Friday. "It was a daylong shoot. Even Ronnie was present at the studio that day. After pack-up, there was a small bash on the set to usher in the festive season."

Repeated attempts to contact director Anand and Ranbir were met with no response.
