New Delhi: BJP MP Shatrughan Sinha on Wednesday came out in support of Kirti Azad and asked Finance Minister Arun Jaitley to follow the example of LK Advani, who had resigned over the Hawala case, and 'come clean' as 'advised' by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Sinha, who has been critical of the party leadership over a host of issues, also took a dig at it, saying the 'party with a difference has become party with differences'. Sinha hailed Azad, who has targeted Jaitley over alleged corruption in DDCA, as the 'hero of the day' and warned the party against taking any coercive action against a friend fighting corruption, saying it could boomerang.

He was apparently referring to Advani's decision to resign after he was named an accused in the Hawala case. "Kirti Azad-hero of the day. Humble appeal to friends.

Avoid knee jerk reaction, coercive action against friend who is fighting against corruption.

The Opposition on Tuesday claimed that Modi has signalled to Jaitley to quit in the wake of DDCA row by drawing a parallel with Advani in the Hawala case, a suggestion BJP rejected outright.

Modi had said at a BJP parliamentary party meet that the Finance Minister will come through 'with flying colours' against charges of corruption levelled against him by the opposition in the same way as Advani had done in the Hawala case.
