Kozhikode: The body of a 17-year-old sports trainee was yesterday found hanging from the ceiling of her hostel room inside Wayanad District Sports Council women's hostel at Kalpetta, police said.
Resanamol, a native of Cherpuzha, was found hanging in her room, following which the warden was informed.

The girl, a member of the athletic squad, was asked by her colleagues and leader about a mobile phone in her possession while returning after their training. As she gave conflicting replies, they informed the matter to the warden, he said.
The warden, who questioned the girl and could not get a convincing reply about the mobile phone, intimated the matter to Resanamol's mother and left for her room.
A few minutes later she was found dead, Kalpetta Sub-Inspector Raman Unni said.
