Why we voted the way we did

Now that the election results are out, with the benefit of perfect hindsight, I will now pontificate.

Nitish Kumar cracked it, simply based on the development in the state. For those of us who thought that Bihar was a permanently lost cause. For the state at least, I'm glad that it isn't.

Lalu's seats went from 24 to four. No matter what he has done in the Railways, back home, the chickens
have come home to roost. Much delayed, but still welcome.

Post results, Amar Singh's mood was a sight to behold. The picture of modesty and reticence. Not something you would expect from Chhote Bhaiyya.

Neither issue ends up putting food on the table of the common man. It's good to know that invented political issues didn't work this time around.

News channels reported that Prithviraj Chauhan wanted Rahul Gandhi to be made PM immediately.

Considering that Rahul himself had no interest and one of Congress's election planks was Manmohan as PM again, his opinion was a bit uncalled for.

It would help if the sycophants got off their knees, that being their vantage position to be able to kiss
relevant rears, and focused on what their own seniors were saying.

Many of the goons, dons and goondas, or their nominees, who stood for elections, lost. The mind of the Indian voter awakens.

In spite of the anti-incumbency factor, bad economy, rising prices, terrorism and all that they had going against them, the UPA still came back to power.

The electorate puts one hell of a premium on stability and experience.

At no point did I expect the stock market to rally the way it did, so I did not do any buying at all.

I am happy to give up a personal money-making opportunity for the greater good of the nation. My personal generosity overwhelms me.
