As part of helping surgeons to perform operations with precision, the Puducherry health department has included a proposal in the Union Territory's 11th plan document to procure a robot to assist the doctors.

Director of Health and Family Welfare Services Dr Dilip Kumar Baliga said yesterday that the robot would extend a helping hand to doctors to conduct surgeries in various departments.

The robot with four hands would cost Rs 3.5 crore, he said
