All India Congress Committee (AICC) observers for Karnataka, Sushil Kumar Shinde, Deepak Bawaria and Bhanwar Jitendra Singh arrived in Delhi on May 15. Notably, Congress is all set to announce its Chief Ministerial candidate for Karnataka today. The Congress Legislature Party (CLP) has unanimously decided to leave the selection of the new Karnataka Chief Minister to the All India Congress Committee (AICC) president Mallikarjun Kharge. Speaking to the media after the meeting, Congress’ National Spokesperson and Rajya Sabha MP Randeep Surjewala said, “Two resolutions were passed in the CLP meeting today. One resolution was presented by DK Shivakumar thanking Karnataka people and other Congress leaders for their support in the stellar performance in Karnataka Assembly elections. The other was presented by Siddaramaiah which asked the CLP to leave the selection of the new Karnataka Chief Minister to the All India Congress Committee (AICC) president Mallikarjun Kharge which was endorsed by everybody.”
