Lady Gaga and Doechii
Grammy-winning artists Lady Gaga and Doechii have come together in striking fashion for the music video of Runway, a track featured on the official soundtrack of The Devil Wears Prada 2. The visual spectacle is elevated by their bold couture looks, both designed by Indian couturier Gaurav Gupta.
For the video, both artists are seen in custom-made, fully embellished corseted bodysuits that function as a single, seamless piece. Extending from head to toe, each outfit incorporates an integrated face covering, creating a continuous silhouette that blurs the line between body, garment, and mask. The designs aim to deliver an immersive visual experience, where fashion becomes an extension of identity rather than just an accessory.
The craftsmanship behind these couture pieces is equally remarkable. Each garment required nearly 800 hours of meticulous handwork, executed by a team of over 20 skilled artisans. The detailing is intense, with more than 3,000 crystals carefully applied to every look, resulting in a richly textured and dimensional finish that captures and reflects light dramatically on screen.
Lady Gaga's ensemble features a pearl-toned bodysuit, intricately hand-embellished with crystals and pearls. The look creates a luminous, high-shine surface that enhances her on-screen presence, radiating elegance and power. In contrast, Doechii's outfit takes on a darker, edgier tone. She wears a black bodysuit adorned with spikes and metal studs layered over a base of sequins and crystals, giving it a sharp, graphic appeal with a strong visual edge.
Despite their contrasting aesthetics, both designs maintain a consistent sculpted structure, highlighting Gaurav Gupta Couture's signature focus on form, surface, and intensity. The interplay of textures and tones adds depth to the visual narrative, reinforcing the dramatic essence of the music video.
Speaking about the collaboration, Gaurav Gupta shared, "These looks were designed as a second skin. With Gaga and Doechii, the idea was to create something immersive and unapologetic, where couture becomes both armour and identity."
Styled by Chloe and Chenelle for Lady Gaga and Sam Woolf for Doechii, the project further cements Gaurav Gupta Couture's growing influence across global music and film, where fashion continues to play a central role in storytelling and performance.
