Actor Akshaye Khanna has made a sizeable real estate purchase in Mumbai, acquiring a luxury apartment in the city's upscale Malabar Hill neighbourhood for Rs 33.26 crore. According to property registration documents reviewed by Square Yards on the Maharashtra Inspector General of Registration (IGR) website, the transaction was registered in September 2026.
The purchase adds another high-profile celebrity property deal to Mumbai's luxury real estate market. Located in one of South Mumbai's most sought-after residential pockets, the apartment is situated at 30 Little Gibbs on Malabar Hill Road. The registration documents show that the transaction attracted a stamp duty payment of Rs 1.99 crore, while Rs 30,000 was paid towards registration charges.
Malabar Hill has long been associated with premium residential properties, owing to its location, sea views and established infrastructure. The neighbourhood offers access to key South Mumbai areas including Nariman Point, Fort and Colaba, while major roads such as Nepean Sea Road, Walkeshwar Road and Pedder Road connect it to other parts of the city.
The area is also home to landmarks including Hanging Gardens, Kamala Nehru Park, Banganga Tank and Walkeshwar Temple. Its mix of luxury residences, limited premium housing and proximity to business and lifestyle hubs has made it a preferred address for affluent homebuyers.
Khanna, son of veteran actor Vinod Khanna, has carved out a distinct space for himself in Hindi cinema over the course of his career. Rather than being confined to one genre, the actor has taken on a range of roles, often earning appreciation for his understated performances.
His filmography includes titles such as Dil Chahta Hai, Hulchul, Gandhi, My Father, Race and Drishyam. His performances have seen him take on both dramatic and complex characters, contributing to his reputation as a versatile actor.
Despite being part of a prominent film family, Khanna has largely maintained a private life away from the constant spotlight. His selective approach to films and distinctive screen presence have kept him a respected name in the Hindi film industry.
The latest property purchase marks a significant addition to his Mumbai real estate portfolio, placing the actor among the latest celebrities to invest in one of the city's most established luxury neighbourhoods. Akshaye Khanna was last seen in Ikka.
