Alia Bhatt recently opened up about her experience of shooting the first episode of India's Got Latent Season 2, revealing that the laughter-filled shoot left her fitness tracker convinced she was 'very stressed.' The actor, who appeared on the show's comeback episode alongside her Alpha co-star Sharvari, said she spent nearly five hours on set and laughed far more than viewers got to see in the final edit.
The episode marked comedian Samay Raina's return with India's Got Latent following the controversy surrounding its previous season. While the comeback generated significant buzz online, audience reactions have remained divided, with some praising the humour and others feeling the show had lost its spontaneous charm.
Speaking at a promotional event in Jaipur on Monday, Alia recalled the experience of filming the episode, saying the constant laughter even affected her heart rate.
"We love this special; we love how much laughter he brings to everybody. And it was a lot of fun. Actually, what you saw was one hour. We were there for four to five hours. My heart rate tracker said I was very stressed because it is not normal, I guess, to laugh so much," she shared.
Alia and Sharvari appeared on the first episode to promote their upcoming action thriller Alpha. While the audience only watched a one-hour cut, the actor revealed that the actual shoot stretched for several hours, making it one of her most entertaining promotional outings.
The debut episode has sparked mixed reactions across social media. While many fans were excited to see Samay Raina return, several viewers felt the latest season lacked the unfiltered, chaotic energy that made the original a viral sensation.
Some criticised the episode for feeling more scripted and promotional than previous editions. Others, however, appreciated moments such as Samay's jokes about Alia's Jigra, her Cannes appearance, and a Donald Trump parody that many viewers singled out as one of the funniest segments.
Days after the episode premiered, Alia also praised Samay Raina and Balraj Ghai's friendship in a behind-the-scenes video. She said their heartfelt conversation moved her emotionally and made her feel connected to both comedians.
Meanwhile, Alia is gearing up for the release of Alpha, directed by Shiv Rawail. The film, which also stars Sharvari and Bobby Deol, is the seventh instalment in YRF's expanding Spy Universe and is slated to release in theatres on July 3.
