According to a News24 report, Emraan Hashmi is earning approximately Rs 12 crore for Awarapan 2. The actor is going to reprise his famous character, Shivam Pandit, in the sequel. As per the report, his pay is almost ten times more than what he earned for the original Awarapan movie made in 2007. For the original 2007 film Awarapan, Emraan Hashmi was reportedly paid a modest fee of about Rs 1.5 crore to Rs 2 crore.

More about Awarapan 2

Produced by Vishesh Films, Awarapan 2 is directed by Nitin Kakkar and written by Bilal Siddiqui. The film will release in cinemas on 14th August and witness a clash with Sunny Deol and Preity Zinta's Batwara 1947. Mohit Suri helmed the first part of the franchise. He got nostalgic over Awarapan 2, calling it a ‘long-lost love' and ‘old friend.'

According to a Bollywood Hungama report, the film was granted a censor certificate on August 5. The film has been granted a U/A 16+ certification. In total, the Board ordered four minutes of deletions and 20 seconds of replacements, resulting in a final runtime of 140 minutes and 20 seconds, which comes to 2 hours and 20 minutes.

While the trailer was praised for being an intense, spoiler-free promo, eagle-eyed netizens spotted another talking point - the trailer thumbnail and poster bear a striking resemblance to the iconic ‘Homeland' artwork. Both feature the lead turning back amid a sea of similarly dressed figures, with a contrasting splash of colour creating an almost identical visual composition.

Composer Amaal Mallik recently alleged that the music of Awarapan 2 was being targeted by a "paid PR" campaign orchestrated by "rival elements" in the industry.
