After playing a musician in Farhan Akhtar's 'Rock On 2' (2016), Purab Kohli will now be seen in the role of a Karachi-based photo journalist in the Sonakshi Sinha-starrer, 'Noor'. The actor, who romances Sonakshi in the Sunhil Sippy-directed project, will be seen capturing war-torn areas around the world.

In order to bring authenticity to his part, Purab spent a considerable amount of time browsing through images showcasing the effects of war. "It's really fascinating to see how these brave men risk their lives to capture such harsh moments for the world [to see]. The manner in which they narrate a story through photos, fascinates me," he says, adding that the practice helped him understand his character better. "I browsed through a lot of websites featuring images from Iraq to decipher the kind of life my character would have lived."

Sunhil also introduces Purab to a few photo journalists, including documentary photographer Sudharak Olwe, whose work, the actor says, stuck with him.

His research, he adds, enabled him to slip into his role seamlessly, but he was careful to avoid imitating characteristics for reel. "I come across as someone who Noor [Sonakshi] looks up to. My character will be seen with gunshot marks, someone who has many stories about his stint as a war photographer to narrate," he signs off.
