Speaking about the vision behind Nitanshi Cannes debut look, Monica Shah says, "For Nitanshi's Cannes debut, we wanted to create something truly magical, a look that would capture the softness of her spirit and the sparkle in her eyes. Inspired by the idea of spring florals under the moonlight, her custom ensemble weaves together our signature kasab embroidery and delicate macrame detailing, bringing together heritage and whimsy in perfect harmony."
Nitanshi Goel was styled by celebrity stylists Shrey Vaishnav and Urja Amin.
For her first look during the India Pavilion inauguration at the prestigious film festival, Nitanshi paid homage to legends of Indian cinema. The highlight of her look was a stunning pearl hair accessory. The strand of pearls by Be Abhika, cascading from her hair, was a tribute to Bollywood's iconic actresses from a bygone era. Tiny photo frames were threaded through the pearls, each honoring legends like Madhubala, Rekha, Sridevi, Vyjayanthimala, Hema Malini, Waheeda Rehman, and Nutan.
Nitanshi wore a custom pre-draped ivory saree for her first appearance at Cannes. The saree featured bow embroidery, cascading 3D floral accents, and subtle paisley motifs. Her blouse was intricately handcrafted with pearls and bead detailing. She kept the accessories minimal, opting for bow-shaped earrings with pearl drops and a single-strand pearl bracelet to complete her look.
Sharing her excitement about her Cannes debut, Nitanshi said, "I came into this industry with aspirations of making things happen for me. From the incredible journey of 'Laapataa Ladies' to now standing on the global stage at Cannes, I am getting closer to realizing them. I am that girl who is representing every Indian girl out there who dreams big and is ready to go and achieve them, come what may. Being able to represent those girls at a global stage is a moment of sheer happiness. By me being on the carpet, I wish to empower each female out there who is taking charge of their life, dreams, and career. It's an absolute honour."
