Akshay Kumar's upcoming comedy entertainer Welcome To The Jungle has received clearance from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), but not before several modifications were made to the film. According to reports, the censor board approved the movie after directing the makers to implement 18 cuts and changes, including edits to certain dialogues and visual sequences.
One of the most discussed changes involves a dialogue referencing Kashmir. The phrase "Paani of Kashmir" has reportedly been removed from the film as part of the CBFC's recommendations. While the exact context of the dialogue has not been disclosed, the board deemed it necessary to modify the reference before granting certification.
The CBFC also ordered changes to a few scenes featuring actresses Disha Patani and Jacqueline Fernandez. Reports state that some bikini shots and glamour-focused visuals were either trimmed or modified. The revisions were reportedly aimed at reducing the emphasis on sensual imagery in specific portions of the film.
Apart from these changes, the censor board is said to have suggested several additional edits involving dialogues, visual details, and references that it considered unsuitable for theatrical release in their original form. The cumulative result was a list of 18 modifications before the film was cleared for audiences.
Directed by Ahmed Khan, Welcome To The Jungle is the third installment in the popular Welcome franchise and boasts one of the biggest ensemble casts in recent Bollywood history. The film features Akshay Kumar alongside Suniel Shetty, Jacqueline Fernandez, Disha Patani, Raveena Tandon, Lara Dutta, Arshad Warsi, Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav, Johnny Lever and several other actors. The comedy adventure is scheduled for a theatrical release on June 26, 2026.
The film has already generated significant buzz due to its star-studded cast and the return of the beloved franchise after a long gap. Promotional material, including the teaser, trailer and songs, has received widespread attention online, with fans eager to see the latest chapter in the chaotic comedy universe.
CBFC interventions in major Bollywood releases often spark discussion among moviegoers, especially when they involve high-profile scenes or dialogues. In the case of Welcome To The Jungle, the edits have added another layer of curiosity ahead of its release, with audiences now wondering how the final theatrical version will differ from the original cut submitted to the board.
Despite the modifications, the film remains one of the most anticipated comedy releases of the year and is expected to attract considerable attention when it arrives in cinemas later this month.
