A video of actress and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut has gone viral on social media, wherein she is seen praying and performing puja for the well-being of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The clip was circulated on the internet on Thursday evening with claims that the actress performed special prayers and rituals for Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the occasion of Karwa Chauth on Thursday, October 29. However, here's the truth behind the viral video.
The viral clip allegedly shows Kangana offering prayers and performing puja for the Prime Minister's long life, good health and well-being. She is seen wearing a vibrant crimson-red and multi-colored double ikat Patan Patola saree paired with traditional statement jewellery for the occasion.
However, the claims are misleading. The video circulating online is not from Karwa Chauth 2026 but from June 2026, when Kangana visited the Shree Chamunda Mata Temple and Gajanan Maharaj Temple in Jodhpur, Rajasthan for the promotion of her film Bharat Bhagya Vidhata.
During her visit, Kangana had offered prayers and congratulated the Prime Minister on completing 4,400 days in office, as it marked his milestone as India's longest-serving Prime Minister in terms of consecutive tenure. The clip from her June visit is now being circulated on social media with a false context, wrongly linking it to the Karwa Chauth celebrations.
The actress had back then shared a video from her temple visit on her Instagram handle on June 11. In the caption, Kangana wrote, "I prayed to God to bless him with excellent health, immense strength and a long life, so that the coming decade under his leadership also becomes a decade of development, prosperity, security and pride for India."
Thus, the video going viral on the internet currently with the Karwa Chauth claims is falsely being circulated. It does not show Kangana performing Karwa Chauth rituals for PM Modi on October 29. In fact, it is an old clip from her June 2026 temple visit.
Kangana Ranaut, who is known to vocally react to such issues, has not reacted to the viral video or the misleading claims circulating on social media.
