Actor Ranveer Singh has been in the news ever since he unceremoniously exited Farhan Akhtar's Don 3. The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) issued a non-cooperation directive against him. Amid the ongoing dispute between the actor and the film's makers, veteran actress and CINTAA Vice-President Padmini Kolhapure has now come out in support of Ranveer, assuring that the association stands firmly by him.
Amid the ongoing dispute, Padmini Kolhapure, who serves as Vice-President of CINTAA, extended support to Ranveer Singh amid FWICE's decision. Speaking to IANS, she said, "CINTAA is proud to have Ranveer Singh as our member. We stand by him and for him whenever he needs us. This is already out in the public domain, so I do not want to comment more about it. We are here for him, with him. If he ever needs us, we are for Ranveer Singh."
Just a day earlier, CINTAA president Poonam Dhillon revealed that CINTAA was allegedly not informed about the matter, despite Ranveer Singh being one of its members. According to Poonam, the association could have attempted to mediate between both parties.
FWICE announced a non-Cooperation Directive (NCD) against Ranveer after receiving a complaint from Don 3 makers Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani, claiming they faced a loss of approximately Rs 45 crore towards the pre-production of the sequel. FWICE Chief Advisor Ashoke Pandit said that Ranveer decided to back out of the film just three weeks before they were scheduled to start shooting Don 3.
Ashoke Pandit further shared that they invited Ranveer multiple times to talk; however, they failed to get any response from him. Later, they received an email from the actor stating that FWICE does not have any jurisdiction in this entire matter.
Finally, breaking his silence, Ranveer's official spokesperson shared a statement stressing that he has the utmost regard for the film fraternity.
"Ranveer Singh holds the highest regard for the film fraternity and for everyone associated with the Don franchise. Throughout the recent developments surrounding Don 3, he has consciously chosen to maintain silence, believing that professional discussions and personal equations are best handled with dignity, maturity, and mutual respect," the official statement read.
