One of the year's most eagerly awaited cinematic events has finally locked its release date. KVN Productions and Thespian Films are all set to release the much-awaited edge-of-the-seat thriller, Haiwaan, directed by acclaimed filmmaker Priyadarshan, in cinemas worldwide on September 11, 2026. The film marks the reunion of Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan.
Actors Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan's upcoming film Haiwaan, directed by Priyadarshan, is all set to light up the silver screen on September 11, 2026. KVN Productions announced the release date on Instagram. The poster shared by the banner read: "In Cinemas 11th September 2026. 60 Blockbusters. One master storyteller. A film by Priyadarshan. Haiwaan."
Interestingly, the film will clash at the box office with Ayushmann Khurrana and Sara Ali Khan's Udta Teer, which is also slated for release on the same date.
Bringing together two of Indian cinema's biggest stars, Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan, Haiwaan marks their highly anticipated on-screen reunion after 18 years. The actors were last seen together in Tashan. Known for their effortless chemistry and powerful performances, the duo returns in what promises to be an intense and gripping cinematic experience.
Haiwaan is a taut thriller packed with suspense and high-stakes drama. The film also features a stellar supporting cast, including Shriya Pilgaonkar and Saiyami Kher. It is the official Hindi remake of the 2016 Malayalam blockbuster thriller Oppam. Directed by Priyadarshan, the film stars Saif as a visually impaired man accused of murder and Akshay as the antagonist. As per reports, the film will also feature Malayalam actor Mohanlal in a cameo.
With an exciting combination of powerhouse talent in front of and behind the camera, Haiwaan is poised to be one of the biggest theatrical events of 2026.
Meanwhile, Priyadarshan and Akshay recently teamed up for Bhooth Bangla. The film also stars Paresh Rawal, Jisshu Sengupta, Rajpal Yadav, Tabu, Wamiqa Gabbi, and Asrani. Saif was recently seen in Kartavya, directed by Pulkit. He will next be seen sharing screen space with Pratik Gandhi in Netflix's Hum Hindustani. The film is set in newly independent India, where a team of officials battles chaos, resistance, and impossible odds to deliver the nation's very first democratic election, inspired by true events.
