Director Anurag Basu has clarified that his upcoming romantic musical with Kartik Aaryan and Sreeleela is not delayed due to Saiyaara's success. In a recent media interaction, Anurag said, "Given that both films feature musicians as central characters, we knew comparisons would be drawn. But the two films are completely different." The yet-untitled film will now release in 2026 due to scheduling conflicts. "Kartik was busy with Karan Johar's upcoming film [Main Teri Tu Mera Tu Meri Main Tera], and I was occupied with the release of Metro... In Dino," he added. Industry buzz claims the film shared thematic similarities with Saiyaara, leading to rewrites and reshoots. While unofficially seen as a sequel to Aashiqui 2 [2013], legal issues may prevent the use of the title. A reimagined version of the iconic title track from the Aditya Roy Kapur and Shraddha Kapoor-starrer is however expected to be included in the movie.
Filmmaker duo Abbas-Mustan recently revealed that the original climax of Baazigar (1993) had Kajol's character kill Shah Rukh Khan's vengeful anti-hero. In a chat with YouTuber, Lucky Bisht, Mustan revealed that the climax was altered to evoke more empathy from the audience. The directors shared that casting SRK in such a dark role was a bold move at the time. "He was fearless. He wanted to take risks," they recalled.
The studio, Eros International, which produced Dhanush and Sonam Kapoor-starrer, Raanjhanaa (2013) has defended its decision to release an AI-altered version of the film, dismissing director Aanand L Rai's objections as "factually incorrect" and "legally unfounded." The filmmaker had voiced disappointment over the studio modifying the film's original ending, where Dhanush's character dies, into a happier conclusion (Re-release, but with a twist, July 12). In a statement, Eros CEO Pradeep Dwivedi said, "This is a creative reimagining, not a replacement."
Actor Ravi Kishan has confirmed that he will reunite with Ajay Devgn for Dhamaal 4, marking their third on-screen collaboration after Singham Again (2024), and the upcoming Son of Sardaar 2. Speaking on The Great Indian Kapil Show, Ravi said, "We're back together again - this time in the madness of Dhamaal 4."
