Filmmaker Sudhir Mishra has confirmed that Manoj Bajpayee will portray Mahatma Gandhi in his upcoming biopic. Ending weeks of speculation, the director wrote on social media, "That's roughly the plan. Hope it all works out." The announcement marks the first official detail about the project, with production likely to begin in Kolkata this September.

Actor Varun Dhawan, along with his father, filmmaker David Dhawan, has contributed R20 lakh to Cine & TV Artistes' Association (CINTAA) to support industry workers. The association said the funds will go towards the welfare of members, particularly those in need. On the work front, the actor was last seen in Border 2.
