Madgaon Express
Actor Divyenndu recently shared a big update confirming that a sequel to his 2024 film Madgaon Express is officially in the works. He added that director Kunal Kemmu is currently developing the script of the sequel. The 2024 comedy, which featured Pratik Gandhi and Avinash Tiwary alongside Divyenndu, received a strong response from audiences. Building on the success of the film, the writer-director Kemmu is now set to expand the story.
Divyenndu, during an interview with Varity India, expressed his excitement and confirmed that the much-awaited sequel is moving ahead. "Yes, it's on. It's definitely on. Kunal [Kemmu] is working on the script. We are all very, very excited," Divyenndu said. The Mirzapur actor further spoke about how the love and reception of the audience had a major role in pushing the makers to work on a sequel.
"The kind of response we got for Madgaon (Express) was so... I mean, it's got a cultish sort of a following. I'm not gonna use the word 'cult', because it's too new. It still has to grow and age well. But yeah, people are really excited about that film," he shared.
Madgaon Express was backed by Excel Entertainment and stood out for its quirky humour and chaotic narrative. Released in 2024, the film quickly earned a fan following. The film revolved around three childhood friends, Dodo, Ayush, and Pinku, who embark on a trip to Goa that goes completely off track due to a sequence of terrible decisions.
Notably, the ending of Madgaon Express had already hinted at a sequel. In the epilogue, Divyenndu's character Dodo hints at a trip to Las Vegas to his friends, setting the stage for a new adventure. With the plot of Dodo winning a lottery and Pinku (Pratik Gandhi) gearing up for his wedding, the Madgaon Express sequel could take a bachelor party route, drawing comparisons to the Hollywood film The Hangover.
Nevertheless, the plot details remain under wraps at the moment; however, if the film shifts from Goa to Las Vegas, the sequel promises a bigger, more chaotic entertainer.
