Imran Khan, an actor who took a decade off from films, is preparing to return to the screen. During a chat with the Hindustan Times, Iman Khan described his future project as "a natural progression."' He said, "The movie is just like what the team of Break Ke Baad would be doing 15 years later in life. It's a natural progression. Danish and I now have a collective life experience. He's been married, I've been through a divorce. It's just the film we should make 15 years later. This is very much a personal project that came from the creative urge of wanting to tell a story and working with drar friends. The shoot is complete and it's in post-production. We are looking at releasing it once the streaming platform decides on the date."

Imran further went on to share how Bhumi Pednekar joined the project, "It was a co-creative decision, we all agreed on her and what she would bring to the film, we were pretty upfront about it. She brought a good vibe to the set, and it was the same with Gurfateh (Pirzada). In fact, this is the happiest set I've ever been on."

During the interview, Imran Khan also disclosed that he had initially rejected Break Ke Baad until being persuaded by a party to reconsider. He recounted, "I was filming for I Hate Luv Storys (2010) when Danish came in to narrate Break Ke Baad. He despises narrations, and I don't do well listening to them, so I replied 'no thanks' and departed. Later, I met him at a party, and we got along great. Halfway through the chat, I discovered it was the same guy whose script I had rejected. That's when he sent me a draft to read, and something sparked with me. We began shooting the picture a few months later."

Imran Khan took a break from performing following his 2015 flick Katti Batti. He had said that he had left acting because he no longer felt thrilled about the jobs he was being offered. He is now actively seeking new chances, albeit he is still picky about the ventures he pursues.
