Junaid Khan, son of Aamir Khan, was recently seen in Ek Din, which released in theatres on May 1. Produced by Aamir Khan, the film also marked the Bollywood debut of Sai Pallavi.
In a recent interview with Vickey Lalwani, Junaid opened up about his father's bond with fellow Khan superstars, Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan, and also shared the advice he received from both actors.
Talking about Aamir and Salman's friendship, Junaid said, "They hang out together once in two years and have a great time. I don't think they are interested in hanging out with anybody else when they are together. Occasionally, meri mulaqat hui hai (I have met them), but I don't hang out with them."
Junaid also recalled the advice Salman gave him after watching the trailer of Loveyapa.
"Salman sir saw the trailer of Loveyapa and told me, âJunaid, do an action film,'" he shared.
He further spoke about a funny interaction with Shah Rukh at a party.
"Shah Rukh sir once told me, âIf you ever want to complain about your father, I am just a phone call away.' I told him, âYou have no idea, I might actually take you up on that, and then you'll regret it because I'll keep calling you,'" Junaid said.
In the same conversation, Junaid addressed the underwhelming box office performance of Ek Din.
"Yeah, the film didn't do well. We were hopeful, but I guess it didn't connect with enough people. It happens sometimes. It's a film I genuinely liked and enjoyed. A lot of people appreciated it, but I guess most people didn't," he said.
Junaid also revealed that his father, Aamir Khan, still takes a film's failure very personally.
"He is still moping. Even after all these years and all that he has seen, it still really bothers him. But he keeps himself busy and goes back to work. He takes a film's failure very personally, especially when he believes in the film," Junaid shared.
Released on May 1, Ek Din reportedly collected Rs 1 crore on its opening day before witnessing a decline in collections. In 11 days, the film reportedly earned Rs 5.44 crore worldwide.
Junaid Khan will reportedly next be seen in Ragini MMS 3, backed by Ektaa Kapoor. According to reports, he will star opposite Tamannaah Bhatia in the third installment of the horror-thriller franchise.
